The Prompt Writer

Thought it was about time I got back over here and posted some new prompts for all my writing buddies.  But first, I’ve got to give a shout out to Lindsey who wrote a great story based on one of the prompts I’d posted in my “weekend challenge”.  I had planned on posting more, but you know how life is.  It gets in the way and you’ve got to do all those boring daily things.  Time flies when you’re loaded down with housework and day jobs.  LOL.  Thanks Lindsey and I hope I give you many more great ideas for you writing inspiration.

And now, I have some new people I’d like you to meet.  One of the things I do in order to get an idea for characters in my stories is that I write out a bunch of names and what I think they’re like.  In the process, I end up with more characters than I can use, so I’m passing them along to you.  I hope you meet a character you like and use in a story.  If you do, please post a comment where the story can be found, or send me a message through my contact page.  I’d love to pass your story along to the rest of the world.  So, without further ado, pick your character.

1.) George Mallony—An aging biker living in a rural community.  The darkest part of his past has come to call and it’s not something he’s very happy about.

2.) Louis Devoux-A foreign exchange student who’s only perception of the typical American family is based on 1950’s television shows.

3.) Kory Greenwald–The only girl in a house with seven children.  Her father is deceased and her mother works two jobs.

4.) Maria Montoya–An office manager working for a failing brokerage firm.  A stop at a gas station changes her life forever.

5.) Kyle Lafferty–A recent college graduate who faces a future working for his father or following his own dream, which will tear his family apart.

6.) Arthur Fontaine–An antique dealer who specializes in rare books.  He carries a mysterious charm around his neck and is rumored to be a cult leader.

7.) Lorraine Anderson–The second wife of a Las Vegas realtor.  She comes across a contract giving the first wife a large sum of money for an unknown service.

8.) Chance Davenport–A pro gambler with a terrible mean streak.  This is only one of his many aliases, and he’s been on the run for nearly 15 years.

9.) Deanna Paige–An exotic dancer looking for a way out.  She sets her sights on a regular customer who seems to have an endless supply of money.

10.) Larry Dowell–A farm hand with a checkered past.  He is severely paranoid and has a quick temper.  He has the name Claudia tattooed on his arm, with an obvious scar as though he tried to remove it the hard way.
