Feeling The Chill
Though the bleakest of days lies in the shadows of the past, it’s still a spell before magic is at hand. When it seems that all is lost, remember that nothing lasts forever. Time will once again move from the frigid to the flitting. Stand strong before the North wind and know that it too shall pass.
1.) Do you live in an area that sees a lot of snow? Write a piece to try and explain to someone who doesn’t understand what it’s like to see snow for days and weeks on end.
2.) Write a children’s story about a little boy and the piles of clothes his mother makes him wear to go outside and play.
3.) Come up with a top ten list of ways to stay warm without spending a ton of money.
4.) Do you enjoy the cold, or do you prefer the warmer temperatures? Explain.
5.) What is your favorite winter time sport and why?
6.) Invent a myth about why we have to deal with snow and cold every year.
7.) How often do you buy new winter apparel? Do you have to have a new coat every year, or are you the kind that’s worn the same one for years?
8.) Write a mystery/thriller about a woman who can’t keep her new house warm in one room.
9.) Write a report about wild animals that tend to come closer to populated areas during the colder months.
