The Prompt Writer

Always have something to write about

Congratulations on Graduations

As you can see, I totally missed yesterdays post.  The reason for that is that I spent the entire weekend dealing with graduations ceremonies and receptions in a few of the towns in my local region.  Needless to say, I lost track of the time (and day) and it just got away from me.  However, I thought it would make good fodder for some non-fictional ideas.  So here’s to all the graduates, high school and college.  Way to go, to one and all.

1.) Write a speech that could be read at any graduation commencement, from kindergarten all the way through college.

2.) Do an article about the lesser known classes that a high school graduate might try to gain a college scholarship towards.

3.) Write an essay about your own graduation experiences and what you would do differently now, and which things you’d never trade for the world.

4.) Is it important for a high school student to head straight off to college after graduation or should they take some time off and find their way in life?  Should they work toward a huge college or are smaller colleges a better option?  Why?

5.) If you happen to be of the older generation, what are some of the lessons you’ve taken with you since your days in high school?  For the younger crowd, what are some of the lesson you hope will still be with you in 10 to 20 years from now?

To all the graduates out there, know that I’m very proud of you and I wish you all the best in the world.
