I Think I’m Addicted To Squidoo
Okay, so on a normal Wednesday I’d be telling you about some giveaways or some blog hops, maybe a freebie or two, but not today. I’m here to profess that I am a Squidoo addict. And that’s a feat all in its own as I’ve been a member of Squidoo since 2007, but it wasn’t until the past couple of weeks that I started to figure out how it works and am finding out that it’s easier than I thought it would be and I’m actually having fun doing it. (Shhhh).
So here’s the deal. I’ve been trying for years to figure out how to work the whole Squidoo thing and it was pretty much kicking my backside. I just didn’t get it. It seemed like a whole lot of work for very little in return. But I kept hearing about all these people who were making a fortune while writing on Squidoo. What was I doing wrong??? I’ll admit that I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it couldn’t be all that hard if that many other people were doing it.
Then a friend of mine started using it to promote her Zazzle store. That’s when I decided that I was going to learn the trick if it killed me. I knew that my little friend, Ruthi, was a whole lot smarter than me, but I had to give it one last shot. I hadn’t been there for some time and when I logged back in, I got a little surprise. In September of 2010, Squidoo had started a new program where they gave their members trophies for reaching certain milestones. Imagine my shock when I learned that I’d won 2 of them and I hadn’t even been on the site in over a year. One of my trophies is for being a member of the site for a total of 3 years. As of next month, I’ll get the 4 year trophy. The other tropy I’d won was for having 2 lenses completed and in top shape. That’s when I knew I needed to make this work.
With a little more work, I’ve managed to earn my 5 lens trophy and am working on earning the 20 Facebook likes trophy and a couple others. I’ve also managed to figure out a few of the tricks to making my lenses look like I almost know what I’m doing, instead of looking like a 4 year old got ahold of Mommy’s computer. I’m having a huge blast at the moment and for every lens I get up and running, I get a little more hooked than before. I now know why so many people claim to be Squid Addicts.
If you’re on Squidoo, look me up. I’m still testing the waters, but it won’t be long and I’ll be swimming with the rest of the Squid Pod. Come join the fun.

Yep! You’re addicted! And so am I! You need to HOP and Squidoo now, too! Yep, there’s a blog hop for Squidoo addicts now, too. It’s a Thursday hop, but you can hop in anytime. Visit my blog and you’ll see my hop post from last week (haven’t got to today’s yet, lol). I would love to see you hop along and I know the hostess of the hop, Marsha’s Spot, would love it, too!
Don’t forget to squidcast your new lenses so your fan club gets notified of your new lenses and lens updates..:-)
Whoo Hoo,
Thanks Ruthi, I’ll be over there in just a bit.
